Andrea
Mills is Vice President Innovation and Knowledge Services
of Mills
& Mills Consulting, a boutique strategy and technology
consultancy that supports corporate creatives and entrepreneurs
to realize innovative ideas aimed to improve quality of life
while respecting biodiversity and making a better use of resources.
Thanks
to his wide network of international relationships with academic
and corporate labs at MIT, the University of California, Stanford
University, IBM, Siemens, Xerox, IDEO, etc. Mr. Mills has
access to some of the most innovative technologies and business
methods. He is Assistant Director for Strategic Development
at the Management
in the Network Economy Program, Università Cattolica
where he teaches a master-level course on Innovation
Management.
He
is co-founder of the World
Institute for the Digital Economy, an international think
tank whose mission is to stimulate and contribute to the development
of the Digital Economy by promoting research projects as well
as educational and training activities in the economic and
cultural fields in order to facilitate a rapid and balanced
advent of the new economy in all countries of the world.
He
engaged in business strategy and technology consulting for
important corporate clients such as ENI Group (world's sixth
largest oil company), GlaxoSmithKline, Siemens, Telecom Italia,
Wella, Zambon Group. He devised strategic plans for entrepreneurs
and inventors in Europe and US, and was part of several expert
groups for international institutions such as the United Nations
Industrial Development Organization and the US Department
of Commerce.
From
1998 to 2000 he served as Director of the European Extension
of the Web Portfolio Study, an international research and
industry project studying the evolution of corporate information
networks with the emergence of Internet-based electronic commerce
and e-business, in cooperation with the University of California
at Berkeley, Stanford University, the National University
of Singapore and other major research institutes in Europe.
Prior
to that he was Research Associate at the Berkeley Roundtable
on the International Economy (BRIE) at the University of California
at Berkeley where he pioneered sectoral studies on the impacts
of disruptive technologies and emerging business models on
industries value chains and complex organizations.
Andrea
Mills graduated with honours in Economics of Innovation with
a specialization in Business and Knowledge Audit at University
Cattolica of Milan. He gained a Master Degree in Management
in the Network Economy, from the University Cattolica in conjunction
with the School
of Information Management and Systems (SIMS) of the University
of California at Berkeley.
