International
Technology Transfer
BraveBrains Innovation Labs
The
first Innovation Lab opened in Italy
The
first Innovation Lab is a regionally funded technology transfer
program whose objective is to increase the productivity of
the Emilia-Romagna region (Northern Italy), by bringing in
the best of new technologies and methodologies from around
the world, fast prototyping and testing new uses and applications,
and presenting them by sector for use by Italian companies
and governments.
The
Innovation Lab is a permanent collaborative environment for
professional end-users, technology providers and researchers
to share and exchange knowledge and lessons learned about
the business potential of emerging technologies, as well as
a pre-competitive and "neutral field" to experiment
and apply them in
various business contexts.
The
goal is to accelerate innovation processes and new technology
adoption in Italian corporations and governments, combining
local Italian talent and creativity with international high-tech
players know-how and experience. The Innovation Lab can give
them a great exposure in the Italian market, with the potential
of stimulating new business opportunities in a very selective,
cost effective and qualified way.
Innovation
Lab facilities are at the Piacenza Expo & Conference hall.
The space, furnished by IKEA,
will feature a design space for demo new technologies, an
idea room for creativity sessions and informal networking
and an auditorium that seats over 300 people.
The
initial efforts will focus on the emergence of new business
and social applications for innovative technologies in the
domains of
E-government, E-Health, Smart Manufacturing, Mobile Commerce
and Multi-Channel Customer Experience Management.
